Hey guys, I was having some problems with my 3g booting up so I connected it to itunes. It was in the middle of a restore when it was accidentally disconnected in the process. Now when I try to restore it again, I first for an error that said 1618. Now, the most recent error says error 21 unable to restore. What can I do to get the phone back up and running? Thank you for the help

I have tried this, and no luck. I'm pretty computer savvy and my firewall isnt the issue. Anything else?

Disappointing. I hope they can fix my 3g. I'd be very mad if I have to buy another one. I spoke with an Apple rep, and they advised the same thing. They told me if they can't repair it (which I don't know what else they can do) I have to purchase another one. Pretty upset with Apple service if I have to do that.

Great link, however, the iphone is already in recovery mode. I tried those steps again but it deemed unsuccessful. It still has the same issue. As of right now I have turned off firewall and anti virus, tried it on two computers, entered it in DFU mode, in recovery mode, different cords. Still no luck.
I am having the exact same problem, my phone wont update to IOS 5.1.1 and when I try to do so its sais Error 1602. I tried restoring it from default settings and got the same thing. Now my phone is completely un usable. Any advice?
I fixed this issue earlier, its simple really. if your firewall isnt the issue, go to a place with FASTER internet. problem solved.
