Just Bought My First MacBook Pro! Any Good Tips?

Hey Apple Community!

I just bought my first 17" MacBook Pro and I uber excited! Even better, I making that switch from Windows 😀

My question is though:

What are some good tips for a new MacBook Pro user to be able and get used to it as quick and humainly as possible? That being said, I'm not totally new to Apple. I have owned their products over the years from the 2nd Gen iPod Nano, all the way up to the iPhone 4S, just not anything in the computer area.

Thanks!

Acquaint your self with 'Mac Help' in Finder and the Apple support articles that you can find at the right hand entry field on the menu bar on top. These two sources of information should be able to answer the vast majority of your questions and solve most of the problems that you may encounter.

Do yourself a big favor: DO NOT DRINK OR EAT WHEN USING YOUR MBP!!!!

Since you have a 17" MBP, explore the possibility of getting an expresscard adapter for eSata connections to external HDDs. It will give you much faster data transfer speeds than Firewire.

Good luck.

Ciao.

Congratulations! Though i remembered how i was so excited to open my brand-new Macbook pro 13" for the very first time!.

Basic Thing, You need to Charge your battery for 7 hours in first charge, this is confirmed by technicians at apple service. The purpose is to calibrate your macbook pro battery and allow electrons to move freely for the first time.

Frequently check your Software update, because Apple occasionally update their software.

Anyway, you can learn yourself how to use your new macbook pro. it quite easy, as a matter of fact i only learned about 10 minutes and get used to it!.

You may want to throw the plastic cap for magsafe head to the rubbish, but you might be surprised as tons of user here would die to find replacement for the cap. That's why i don't throw it yet.

Have fun w/ your mac 🙂

Different Apple stores offer different training, so if you have access to more than one store, check the store website for training that is offered.

If you purchased the one-to-one you get a year of scheduled direct help with almost any topic from using the Mac to specific software use and projects.

Have a good time with your new computer and take advange of all that is offered, especially the free stuff.
