Q: Breaking Magsafe Adapter

Besides preparing your wallet for the worst and taking the victim to the Store with hope in the heart?

There was a thread awhile back where someone had the steel ring around the gold pins on the L-connector simply split apart from the barrel.

And I recall a non-forum article on how to repair a T-connector that frayed apart, but I can't find it now.

But realistically, these bricks are not built for repair.

maybe you should take that magsafe to apple store or reseller where you bought your macbook pro and get a replacement. But if the reseller or the apple store don't want to replace them, you can buy it for $69-$70. Don't push your macbook pro to be charged with broken magsafe, it might cause short-circuit that will fry your entire macbook pro and sure it will cost a lot to repair. better prevent than repair though..

Yes it is covered with Applecare if the magsafe you have really defect from manufacturing process and Apple found that it's their own mistake.Because Applecare will only provide protection for Macbook pro itself and accesories which have defects and not broke down because of user fault. But, you can try though, better late than never

But it's only applicable with T-shaped connector, the truth is he has L-shaped connector.
