May 22, 2012 10:10 AM in response to lynnhopesby planb77,Is this because there is some setting that only lets you sync podcasts you have not listened to onto your I-pod?
Yes. Double check to make sure podcasts and configured to sync to your device from under the iPod's Podcast configuration tab.
To access the Podcasts tab for your iPod, plug your iPod in and click on it from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes. This will bring you to the Summary tab. Along the top you should see a Podcasts tab, so go ahead and click on it. Here you can configure how and what podcasts sync to your iPod.
If you do make any changes to do this tab, make sure to hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to Apply the update changes to your device.

May 23, 2012 5:49 AM in response to planb77by lynnhopes,Hello B-Rock
Thanks very much. The episodes from all of the podcasts went onto my I-pod when I changed the settings.
However, not for my favourite podcast. It is called ' The Pro Wrestling Report' and my I-Pod only has a few episodes from 2011 on it and won't sync any of the 2012 episodes I want onto it.
What can I do?
Thanks!

May 23, 2012 5:54 AM in response to lynnhopesby planb77,So your iPod is now configured to sync all episodes of all podcasts? Could you perhaps provide a screenshot of your Podcasts tab to verify that the settings are correct? Are you getting any error messages during the sync of the iPod with iTunes?
Perhaps you should reset warnings on your device and then resync. Right->click on the iPod under Devices in the left hand pane and select Reset warnings. Then resync your iPod. This should bring back any previously acknolwedged or ignored errors.

May 23, 2012 7:49 AM in response to planb77by lynnhopes,Then I did that reset warning thing and got the following message:
'Some of the videos in your ITunes library, including the video 'PWR Monday Night Meltdown radio - January 2, 2011' were not copied because they cannot be played to this IPod'.
It then had a whole long list of these podcasts that could not be copied.
What does this mean? Do I need new software for the IPod or something? I mean, the IPod does have other PWR videos on it, so it isn’t like my IPod doesn't play videos. It even plays the videos from this podcast.
I am confused.

May 23, 2012 8:04 AM in response to lynnhopesby planb77,That means the podcast producer has started uploading their podcasts in a format that is no longer supported by your iPod Classic. It's likely that the format is intended for newer iOS devices.
iTunes: May be unable to transfer videos to iPhone, iPad, or iPod

May 23, 2012 8:30 AM in response to planb77by lynnhopes,So does this mean there is nothing I can do, except buy a new iPod? I am not sure what model my iPod is - how do I find out which model it is?

May 23, 2012 10:50 PM in response to planb77by cbliss03,I know this is on the iPod classic thread, but I have a similar problem with mine. I have a 4th Generation iPod touch and I'm getting the same message lynnhopes recieved. I feel like the format should at least be supported on mine. I am attempting to sync some of my D23 DisneyGeek podcasts. Is it possible that the producers have it configured so that podcasts can only be viewed off a computer and not synced to an iPod?

May 24, 2012 5:51 AM in response to cbliss03by planb77,It's possible, but either way I think you should contact the producer of those particular podcasts and let them know about the issues you are having trying to sync them to your iPod Touch.

Jun 11, 2012 3:54 PM in response to lynnhopesby HamidR,hey I think I know how to solve our problem:
You need to highlight all the podcasts that do not sync and got to "get info" and then go to "options" and change "media kind" to "iTunes U"
Now you go to iTunes U under LIBRARY and individualy get info of each podcast and change media kind to podcast.
this method may work for you.
hope it works, good luck!!

Jun 11, 2012 8:58 PM in response to lynnhopesby bonitasbug,I am getting the same message with a tv show. I have 7 episodes on the classic the other 17 will not download? Anyone know why this is? I downloaded it from iTunes. I have already tried a restore.

Jun 11, 2012 9:31 PM in response to bonitasbugby planb77,Sounds like you are trying to sync the HD version of the TV Episode. You should try to download the Standard Definition copy instead and sync that to your device as HD content is not compatible with the Nano.
To prevent HD versions from being downloaded in the future head to the iTunes Store, click the Purchased link, and then select TV Shows and remove the tick mark next toDownload HD when available. You should be able to download the SD version now from under this same page.

Aug 14, 2012 5:53 PM in response to lynnhopesby retnuh6,I have been fighting this for a few days with the new Chick McGee podcast and finally figured it out. Everything was set right in Itunes podcasts but I went to the podcasts tab on my iPod Touch and the podcast wasn't checked. I checked it and all is right with the world again, it synched right up like it's supposed to.
