Uninstall Logic Pro

Im having trouble uninstalling Logic on my Macbook. A friend of mine gave me logic however he moved away before I realized I needed the serial # to register the product. Now the plan is to completely uninstall this version and then buy a new one from the App store that is on my deck. Any reccomendations will be appreciated.

Thanks.

It's always those dang friends that get you in trouble isn't it? They make you use those illegal versions.

Besides dragging the application to the trash and emptying it, you will also need to delete the other related install files that are not located in the Logic Application, if you don't do this the App store download will will also ask you for a serial number.

In Root/Library/Preferences there will be a file named com.apple.RegLogic******.plist (the name will differ depending on the version installed. That has to be deleted.

There also some preference files in the User/YourName/Library/Preferences related to Logic, they also begin with com.apple.Logic.**** Not so sure these have to be deleted, probably not.

I removed all the files you said pancenter, and I also downloaded the appcleaner from freemacsoft.net which suggested to delete the same files anyway... so I did what you guys said and downloaded the logic pro from the appstore and opened it. It works properly. But all my presets that I've made before were still there so I'm kind of confused about the whole deleting process. Wouldn't my presets be gone after I deleted the Logic ?

HOW TO UNINSTALL LOGIC PRO 9 SUCCESSFULLY - IN UNDER A MINUTE!

Don't drive yourself nuts trying to find untold files and deleting them.

Simply go to http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30940/amnesia and download this app. It's got a free 15 day trial with no sign up necessary.

I used this to uninstall logic pro 9.

Once you've downloaded the software click on the applications tab and it will find all your apps.

Then click on logic pro app in the list and click the button and it will uninstall logic pro and all related files, you only have to select logic pro 9. You don't have to worry about all the other related files, it will find them and deal with them.

It took about a minute to uninstall the whole kaboodle and I ran a fresh install of logic pro 9 from the apple app store without any problem.

May the force be with you!
