I did this a while ago but the only serial number I remember putting in was the new one on the upgrade box. I don't recall having to enter my old serial number for LE 9. Maybe try the new serial number?

Mar 16, 2013 7:59 AM in response to CalebGuitarPlayerby Dawguy,Thanks Bob.
Yes..... I tried it.. no luck.
First it asked me for the new serial # when installing the upgrade to Pro 9 then it asked me for the previous serial # or, I believe it was called the X key, which I don't have because it's Logic 9 Express that is already installed so...... I figured it wanted that serial #.
It rejected that so then I tried the new serial # which came with the upgrade...... rejected that too.
I don't know what to do at this point.

Mar 16, 2013 8:26 AM in response to Dawguyby BobGus,Did you start with LE9 or was that also an upgrade? Mabye, if you upgraded to LE9 from say LE8 you need to try the original SN? Just trying to help troubleshoot. I think I had a similar issue with Reason when upgrading.

Mar 16, 2013 9:03 AM in response to Dawguyby caesparza,You need a full retail serial to be able to install the LE9, it could be 8 or 7. In my case I had a retail logic Express 7 that then was upgraded to Studio 9. When installing a fresh copy of the Studio, it asked me for both serials.
Hope that helps.

Mar 16, 2013 9:09 AM in response to CalebGuitarPlayerby Dawguy,Hi caesparza,
I do have a retail Logic Express 9 with the original Apple Serial #.
It asks for both the new Studio Upgrade serial # as well as the original Serial #.
I'm entering the original Logic Express serial # butt it rejects it.

Mar 16, 2013 9:11 AM in response to Dawguyby BobGus,Well crap, I'm out of ideas other than making a call to customer support and asking. I'm sure you double-checked that you entered everything correctly. Make the call - it's worth it. Good luck and let us know how it works out or if someone else gives you a tip!

-
Apr 24, 2013 3:59 AM in response to NoAnglesby CCTM,Hi
I believe there were two upgrade packages available, one for Logic Studio (8), Logic Pro 7 etc, and the other for Logic Express.
I have the Studio upgrade part number MB798Z/A
The Full Version Studio 2 part no is MB795Z/A
I do not have the Express>Studio upgrade :-(
As an alternative, simply buy Logic Pro from the AppStore?

Apr 24, 2013 6:09 AM in response to CCTMby caesparza,There are various types of upgrades. Normally a little sticker on the box will indicate whether the upgrade is for previous versions of Logic Studio / Pro or Logic Express.
Maybe you are using a Studio/Pro update to try to update an Express version, so you won´t be able to do it.
Regards.
