Microsoft Database Daemon?

I installed a software update on my Macbook Pro for Microsoft Office for Mac v. 2011. When I try to open Outlook for Mac I now get the following message - " An older version of the Microsoft Database Daemon is running. To open Outlook, first delete the daemon from the Startup Items, and then restart the computer. For more information, see MC OS Help."

What does this mean and how to I proceed or get past this?

Thanks,

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.1)

It won't hurt anything to delete MDDameon from the startup items, but it will quit some of the functionality.

Just deleting from startup may not be enough. It will probably just create a new one if you have notifications or reminders turned on. You will need to turn those off.

Same with HP Schedular. I don't use that either and it's not in my startup items.
