I put my ipod in my pocket an hour before i went swimming,(even though it was dead and needed charging) and i jump in the pool, and 20 mins later i realize that i forgot to take it out of my pocket, and then stupidly out of instinct i try to turn it on...probably short circuited it, but i put it in rice for like 3 days, and it still doesnt turn on, so my question is would it be smarter to just leave it in the rice for longer and see what happens, or should i just get a new one?

iPod touch (4th generation), iOS 5.1

If it was submerged for twenty minutes, yeah it's pretty much hosed.  The rice can't do anything more than it's already tried to do.  Sorry for your luck :-/

Try the rice longer. Like a week and change the rice daily. Then try:iOS: Not responding or does not turn onWhat do you really have to lose?
