Can I put text entry boxes into an iBook using iBooks author?

I want the reader of my iBook to be able to write the answers to questions on the book, just like in a normal paper book. Can I put text entry boxes into an iBook using iBooks author, so that the next time the reader opens the iBook he can see the text?

The Notes feature for IBA books might be what you want. It allows the reader to highlight a section of text and attach a note to it, much like the post-it notes in Acrobat.

Other than that, you could use an HTML widget that allows the reader to type into a text field, and store the text in local storage. That way, the next time the widget is opened, the text will still be there.

Finally, you put a link to an external web page into the book that provides the functionality you need. Obviously, this will work only while the iPad is connected to a network. Also, to keep different readers' notes separate, you would have to have some sort of sign-in process with a user name and password.

There is also the Review widget, but that's limited to multiple choice, which doesn't sound like what you want.

Other than this, I'm not aware of any other options for your problem.
