Debit card security code issue

So my debit card on my itunes, mac app store and iphone store randomly told me i needed to update my security code and now it won't allow me to add it saying it's invalid even though my card is in front of me how would i go about fixing this?

since i can't update it i can't purchase any new apps on my mac or iphone or update existing ones

simply says "Please enter valid security code" and i do even tryed re-adding my card and it's my only card so i can't use another and it worked before so i don't see why it doesn't now

From the App Store Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Accepted payment types

Shopping the App Store requires an iTunes Store account. When you create an iTunes Store account, you must provide a payment method for your purchase. The available payment methods vary by country, but typically you can use credit cards, gift cards, store credit, or PayPal.

The iTunes Store Terms and Conditions also mentions credit cards only, not debit cards.

I believe debit cards were quietly removed as acceptable forms of payment recently. The "security code" message you are getting seems to be a catch-all for any payment method discrepancy.
