Any advice? Which drawing app to choose for my iPad 2?

'Paper' My girlfriend whips up some master pieces on this. Its free but then you have to download all the pens etc.

I'd suggest SketchBook Pro or SketchBookX, those are the really good ones although used best with an iPad stylus. Something simple for doodling or sketching I'd say Paper but you'd have to buy the various tools separately or in a pack, the only you get for free is the Pen, but it's a fun app nonetheless - very seemless for brainstorming.

Hey Abelet, just use your finger (takes getting used to) but so did writing with a pen when you were a kid. 🙂

Yeah, it works pretty well at recognizing strokes. It uses the speed of the swipe accross the screen as well to change the thinkness/darkness of the pen/paint brush.

Art Rage is fun. You can trace over existing photos or make your own. and it has plenty of tools and the such.

I've tried both and purchased two extra tools for Paper and tried out SketchBookX (the free version). I'm pretty satisfied with Paper because I don't paint professionally, just like sketching things up. SketchBook is much more professional and seems handier for proper layer-based work and much more advanced drawing.

It really depends on what it is you want to do on the iPad 🙂

Also I advised a stylus pen because for me even after I got used to sort of draw a little with my finger it wasn't as seamless as with a pen for me, at some precise drawings my finger just seemed too awkward to draw with in both Paper and Sketchbook.
