does itunes match scanning have to be done in 1 sitting?

hi, i havent bought itunes match yet but i have some questions. i have 760 songs and 3.6GB of music on my iphone 4. i'm not sure how long it will take to scan by itunes match, but does it have to be done in 1 sitting? if i don't have time in 1 day, can i do part of scan today and part of it tomorrow? thanks
