All ringer and alert sounds are gone from my iphone. Can anyone help?

Do you have the switch on the upper left side pushed to vibrate (orange shows in background)?
Do you have volume turned down?
Go to Settings > Sounds and make sure everything is turned on and volume level is adjusted correctly.
thanks for your reply. the switch is not on vibrate and the volume is at max. i've checked every setting, reset and restarted several times. all to no avail.
Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you have been through ALL of the troubleshooting steps and you're still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for investigation.
