How to stop pages opening in Full Screen Mode?

How to stop pages opening in Full Screen Mode?

This occurs on most software and is very annoying when you have a large monitor with one small picture taking up the whole screen.

PLUS trying to reduce the size of the screen means the cursor has to find a tiny one pixel area in the corner in order to reduce the screen size. This takes up a lot of time when working on several images.

(enlarging the cursor size is not an answer and makes it worse because it's hard to exactly align the cursor with the text or else it edits the wrong line of text).

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Are you using 10.7.3???

There are up/down arrows in top right corner on Fireworks CSS5 but it is not for fullscreen/nofullscreen.

There is an up/down arrow in Mac Mail and it opens the window in full screen but try and get that removed, if you can!!! You have to go to the menu and find a link to remove full screen as the buttons disappear once the page opens in full screen.

In other words - the default for Mac Mail is not to open in full screen but it is for Fireworks (which I can't figure out how to undo it).

Anyone else?

Your first post you said "pages," I assummed this was Pages. This was the first mention of Fireworks.

I am using 10.7.4

It appears you maybe out of luck.

Try Adobe support or upgrade: http://forums.adobe.com/community/fireworks/fireworks_general

Moving your mouse to the top of the screen in a full-screen application causes the title bar to drop down, where you can then click on the arrows to exit full-screen mode.

My first post also said "images" several times, i.e., a graphics program. And I also stated this occurs with other software.

I already tried the Adobe/Fireworks forum. No solution there either.

And I do have the Standard View selected in Fireworks.

And I have no desire to work in Full Screen mode at all as it's too hard to get out of it and I need documents from several software open at the same time.

My only conclusion is Apple has stepped back into the dark ages. I"ve been a Macaholic for the last 20 years. I"m seriously considering rehabilitation if Apple doesn't get it's act together and fix this Stupid Lion set up.
