another question re archived/imported mailboxes
if I cancel the import of an archived mailbox, while it is being imported, can I presume the original archive is OK?
mail for macintosh-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

How did you Archive it exactly?
I used the pull down menu and selected Archive Mailbox, selected a folder and that's it. However when I archive the mail that has been previously imported, it creates a folder called "import" in the folder where I have store my mailbox archives. This feels like an infinite loop. Ideas?
Which folder did you choose to Archive?
Are you just wanting to have a backup of ertain boxes, or must it be immediately available whithin Mail?
I use a folder I created inside my home folder. I also have archives in the Mail folder in the Library folder inside my home folder.
I want to consolidate these in the same place. I need occassional access to these boxes, so I don't want to use offline storage at this time. But back to my original questions
1. Does the archived mailbox still exist after it has been imported?
2. What happens when an iimport is cancelled while in progress.
Thanks
1. Yes.
2. Nothing bad should happen.
3. Curious note, Import Mailboxes>Mail for OSX in 10.5.8 will import any other Mail at the same level as the folder you choose, not just the folder you choose.
