Q: new mac user, music storage/HD question

Hey everyone, I recently got me a Mac Pro and I know Windows inside and out ( ps, I hate how people refer to a windows machine as a PC, a macbook is considered a personal computer as well) and Here is what I'm trying to do.

I'm updating the main harddrive in the MacPro to a SSD, and am using an External HD as media storage.

Now, In my windows machine, I had quite a few seperate hard drives, and kept windows and my main applications on the SSD, and I could install iTunes onto a regular HDD, and kept all my music on that drive to keep my SSD free.

So basically, (as far as I know) you can't install OSX programs onto a seperate drive and access them like I could on my Windows machine,

So how do I set up iTunes to be able to keep my music on to my Media HardDrive, while keeping my SSD as clean and open as possible.

Thanks
