Safari Adobe Reader plugin

Hello,

I recently updated safari but after updating the browser won't display any pdf files, i checked the internet plugin folder and the adobe reader plugin isn't there. I have tried to reinstall Adobe Reader but still the plugin doesn`t appear on the folder, how can i fix the problem?

Thanks.

Hi..

There are two libraries. You might be looking in the wrong one.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder

Type this exactly as you see it here: ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins

Move the Adobe PDF browser plugin (or just PDF browser plugin) from the Internet Plug-Ins folder to the Trash.

Quit then relaunch Safari to test.

(This is a followup question from a thread that is nearly two years old regarding using Adobe Reader to view pdfs in Safari, but I'm hoping that won't affect your ability to answer.)

I downloaded Adobe Reader a few months ago so I could do editing on pdfs for a project. Once I did that, on both my MacBook and iMac, Adobe Reader became the software that Safari is using to read pdfs. The qualifty of rendered pdfs is not as good as Preview.

You provided instructions to remove the Adobe Reader plug in. If I do that, I presume that will not disable Adobe Reader as a standalone program?

Thank you.
