What do I do if my ipod touch won't connect to Itunes?

What Exactly do you mean by... ' won't connect to itunes?...'

The problem i am having is that neither my iphone or ipod will conect to my itunes on pc (it just doesn't apear on the itunes). But will charge through my pc. (they bothe used to work a couple of weeks ago).

Try restarting the AMDS > iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows

I managed to fix it after a few hours after uninstaling itune and all of the other files that come with it, then realised my avast anti-virus thing was out dated updated it and for some reason it fixed it although re-instaling it didn't. Thanks for the help anyway.
