quit unexpectedly

Have iPhoto main file on a external HD conncected w/ Thunderbolt. The HD says it's a 250 GB file, but on the computer under appications iPhoto it says a 1.1T file.

When trying to open the iPhoto program get error says quit unexpectedly. Have tried to log in as a different user and get same issue. Have 9.2.1.

How to resove this issue?
