error -3253 in downloading our purchases on Apple TV

I am getting error -3253 in downloading our purchases on our AppleTV gen1. All our other devices in the network are downloading our purchases properly from the iTunes Store. We have tries our Macbook and Ipad. So it can't be a network issue.

Can someone help how to resolve this issue? The shows are downloading partially and then the error appears.

Changing my DNS settings worked for me (3253 errors on my MBP). I followed the instructions here:

You can only set one DNS address on Gen1 AppleTV, but it worked like a charm. Thx for the tip!

I had this same issue and it ended up being a firewall on my router. Check out your firewall settings on your router.
