Not sure what you mean by "word search" on the ipad but i will put out a few things here.

If your looking for something you have on your ipad (saved file ect), scroll all the way to the left window and a search window shows.

FYI - for those new to ipad there are scrollable windows with icons, you scroll left and right.....the far laft window is a search window to search for items on your ipad.

If you mean the word dictionary on the ipad then you hold a finger over the word your looking for (works well in books, magazines but have not tried on a webpage), this brings up a small window with "Define" in it. Tap Define and it will bring up the dictionary word and info.

If your on the apple forums and looking for something specific then try to be broad with a word search at first because not everybody will post things correctly. For example if its internet related, try wifi, network or home network. When you first come onto the forums the first few clicks before or after you login should be Ipad if your looking for just ipad related stuff.

If these dont help can you be more specific.

Thank you dragon for taking the time to respond to my question.

I thought it was pretty clear that , I,m trying to replicate a word search (command f or apple f) in Safari.

Maybe you,ve never done it but on a Mac if you want to look for word on a web page, command f will open a box in the top right hand corner for you type the word you,re looking for.

For example, like I said in my original question ,if you are checking out reviews on Yelp and just want to know how the parking is, you search "parking"and you can find the reviews that mention it very quickly.

Tap the Search box at top right.

When the keyboard pops up, type in the Find on Page box at top of the keyboard.

This is for Safari.

Note that a search must be enabled for each app by the developers so if you are using the Yelp app, there is no searching for words used on the page.
