WD My Passport won't let me copy data to it on my Mac.

I backup my photography on a WD My Passport. I have only used PC's with this in the past, I am now trying to back up some more files and it won't let me copy them to the drive. The permissions say that I have read only access on my Mac. I have read some threads, and they all say that I have format the hard drive to change the permissions and that I will not be able to copy over files bigger than 4G. I have RAW files that can get quite large so limiting the size is an option.

Is there any other way to fix this?

If you previously used PC's with your external harddrive, then you need to reformat the drive to an Apple based format using Disk Utility in the Utilities folder. And, no, there is no workaround.

Thanks! That kinda *****. Will I be able to see them on my PC still? I have a laptop... funny thing is it only did this on the passport! I have a WD that I use store all my photography on and had no problems with the different systems! Weird!!

It asks if I would like to use Time Machine for the drive... should I say yes?

LOL! Sorry! This is my first Apple machine and I have only had it for a week! LOL
