3 beeps and black screen - macbook air

Question

3 beeps and black screen - macbook air

I wa on my macbook air and then I closed her and opened her like 10 minutes later and then the screen was black and It started beeping loud, 3 beeps.

I could not do anything but then I was holding the turn off/on button down and the beeps stopped. I presses the on/off button again and everything was okay.

I don't know what this means. I google'd it and I saw this : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1547?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

1 beep = no RAM installed

2 beeps = incompatible RAM types

3 beeps = no good banks

4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)

5 beeps = processor is not usable

I had 3 beeps = no good banks

What does that mean ? Is something wrong with my computer?
Please help me !

It means you have some sort of memory failure. If you have a recent MBA model that does not have user installable RAM, then you need to take it to your local Apple retailer to see about repairing, especially if it's still in warranty.

I've got the latest macbook air, I really don't know anything about commputers so...

But I know that my battery is about 8 months old.
So you're saying that I should take my computer to Apple retailer?

Unless it happens again, don't worry; occasional glitches happen. If it does happen, take the computer in for repair.

It's possible that that series of beeps means that an attempt was made to boot the computer from a Mac OS X version too old for it.

I would. Could be something has come loose inside or the installed memory has a problem. I'd have it checked out since it's still in warranty.

I'm afraid I don't concur with Niel's suggestions.
