Ipad screen in itunes not responding!

Did you activate the iPad yet?

Eject the iPad, quit iTunes, reboot your computer and then try again.

Try renaming the iPad. Go to Settings>General>About>Name - remove the name that's in there and type in a new name for the device. Then try again.

Does the iPad work otherwise? Try another USB port on the computer - do not use a hub.

OK ... Some more dumb questions.

You are using the latest version of iTunes on your PC?

You do have content in your iTunes library don't you?

Have you tried clicking on the iPad name on the left side under the devices heading?

Have you tried rebooting the iPad?

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

The thing that is driving me nuts about this is the fact that I could swear that I've run into this issue before but I just can't remember what is causing this - obviously.

I'm going to try to get some help elsewhere for you.

I sent out an S.O.S. so hopefully you will get help soon. I am positive that I have seen this issue before, but I'm stumped as to what the fix was.

it only gives me the screen with the word iPad. Please help

Trying to understand what you're actually seeing/mean here 🙂

Does it look something like this or not ?

If not can you grab a screen cap and post it please ?

(If it only shows the word iPad and the image can you drag the window bigger using the bottom right hand corner?)

Second question, in iTunes Preferences click the Devices Tab and is it showing an iPad Backup or not ?

OK, I'm firing up one of my PC's and going to connect my iPad via USB to see what I get. I'm running Windows 7 but can also try an XP box, what Windows are you using ?
