HP Printing Difficulty

HP Printing Difficulty

Hello everyone,
I am unable to print to my HP Laser Jet 1000 black and white printer. I have reviewed the Drivers list on the Apple website and could not find my specific model. It would be much appreciated if someone knew a website where I could locate this Driver.

I don't have an Intel Mac, so I'm not even sure this will work for you - nor do I have an LJ 1000 to try it.
I think this was sold as a "Windows Printer" -- that there was only a Windows driver because of the unique requirement to reboot the printer from Windows when turning it on.

Have you found the printer firmware that has to be sent to the printer to boot it up?

Did you install foo2zjs, Foomatic-Rip and ESP ghostscript?

I have not found the printer firmware (I looked).
I installed the foo2zjs, but not the, Foomatic-Rip and ESP ghostscript.

You need Foomatic-RIP and ESP ghostscript.

Again, I don't have that printer, but from what I read, without the firmware to "reboot" the printer, you can only use the printer after a Windows computer has rebooted it by sending it the firmware.

I will try installing the software, etc again. If if dosen't work, I will purchase a new laser printer.
