APPLE ID Doesn't have a credit card

Upon making a free account to publish my books apple comes with an error message

"The following error(s) occured:

this apple ID does not have a valid credit card on file. Go to the Itunes Store to update this account with valid credit card information before trying again."

I always use prepaid itunes card to do my apple purchases

I do not want to give apple my credit card

I'm applying for a free books account, why is my creditcard needed?

Any tips to get around this are appreciated.

I've never used any creditcard with itunes and am not planning to do this. the prepaid itunes card work just fine.

and since I dont' have a US VAT number I decided to go for the free publishing of my books. Unfortunately this error popped up.

There is no way to say that the card has expired as far as I am aware, however I am only 17 and do not own a credit or debit card at the moment, I would feel uncomfortable having to ask my parents for their credit card information incase of any hidden charges.

Hi. Apple has well they do in australia anyway, a website called Payclick. It's like Paypal but it's apples version. You can create a Payclick account, wel, you can here in Australia anyway, and then use it like you would use Paypal. All you need to do is link your Payclick account with a bank account then you transfer money from the bank account to your Payclick account. What I did was create a second bank account with my normal bank and I only use that account for Paypal or Payclick purchases.
