iPod Classic continues "do not disconnect message" after completing sync with PC. I have to manually shut it down to disconnect.

The only way I'm able to disconnect is to reboot. I disconnect as soon as the "do not disconnect message disappears. No other suggested method of disconnecting works.

Again, the problem is regardless of how long I wait after it syncs, the error messages continues to flash, even though iTunes says sync has successfully completed.

I have not installed new software. iTunes says sync has been completed, but the "do not disconnect" message continues to flash on the iPod. I tried selecting the eject tab in iTines as suggested, but receive this message. I'm also unable to eject from My computer.

The only way to disconnect is to shut the iPod off manually, then disconnect before it reboots.

I have not installed new software.

That's not what I said. I said updated your software, not installed it. Either way, double check to make that Norton is not set to scan the iPod. To test this out, temporarily disable it. You have nothing to lose by doing so.

Is the enable disk use option tick from under the iPod's Summary tab? If so, remove the tick mark and apply the changes. Then try to eject your iPod again.

Can you provide a list of what software is installed on your system?

So all Norton services are turned off? You may have closed the program, but there still may be services it has running.

Click Start and type in services.msc in the search box and hit Enter. This should bring up a window listing all of the services currently on your system and their status. Look for any and all Norton services and disable them for the time being. Then connect and try to eject your iPod again.
