May 27, 2012 1:10 PM in response to powder_rodzby powder_rodz,I found this on the link provided by (ds store), but how can I solve if i can't connect with WEP?
New Mac or new location, won't connect
Newer Mac's are not connecting to WEP encrypted as it's basically worthless, WEP and WPA are both cracked only WPA2(AES) is secure.

May 27, 2012 1:32 PM in response to powder_rodzby Linc Davis,It will be a lot easier to follow this discussion if you reply to the message you're actually responding to, rather than to yourself.
If you can connect via Ethernet, but not Wi-Fi, see these support articles:

May 27, 2012 2:54 PM in response to powder_rodzby Linc Davis,Take the steps suggested in the support articles. If that doesn't solve the problem, call AppleCare. Your warranty includes 90 days of phone support. If you still can't get it to work, try another network. Your router may be incompatible. If that fails, exchange the machine for another one. You have 14 days from the date of purchase in which to do that.

Sep 22, 2012 12:40 AM in response to powder_rodzby RevenantCommunity,I have the exact same problem as OP, and i looked through all of the suggested help and they are unfortunately totally useless. My net fails to connect wirelessly every time (yes, I have tried switching the modem and computer on/off and have the password) and the problem appears to be that my brand new Macbook 'Pro' has this going on; "Wi-Fi 2 has the self-assigned IP address 169.254.40.247 and will not be able to connect to the Internet.". Same as OP's problem.
