Q: Can I buy iBooks using an Apps store account?

Do I need an iTunes account to do download iBooks?

I have an apps account but not an iTunes account.

I have downloaded free books and paid for and installed apps successfully.

I asked another iPad user but she didn't  know why I only got free iBooks showing.

Thanks for reading, please help and be brief!

You can use the same account. If you only see free ibooks then which country are you in ? Paid-for ibooks are not currently available in all countries (what you can buy where is listed on this page). If you are not in a country where there are paid-for books, then you could have a look in the app store for other ebook apps and stores - ebooks tend to have digital rights management on them, so in order to read an ebook on the iPad you will probably need the store's own app (unless the store's site says otherwise) e.g. Apple's ibooks can only be read in the iBooks app, Amazon's ebooks in Kindle apps/ereaders etc.

    Thank you.

I'm from Wiltshire but I live in Japan so paid books aren't

    available here, yet.

Thank you again for pointing that out for me. I had not seen that page.

Not sure what I can do next so I will probably try another

    Ebook store.

Any ideas why they aren't available?
