how to remove (delete) shapes from pages document or move them once they are in place

Select the shape and delete it or move it if that is what you want. If you describe in more detail what you are trying to and isn't working it will be easier to give a more specific answer.

If you are having trouble selecting the shape, try holding down the command key and clicking on its edge so you see the corner selection boxes, then hit the Delete key.
