I changed my Apple ID for all of my accounts except Icloud.  I cannot chnage the Apple ID for Icloud on my Itouch or Iphone.  Does anyone know how I cn do this?

    Welcome to the Apple community.

     

    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

     

    When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

    I have had no luck getting the account to delete.  I press "delete account," and it repeatedly asks for a password for the account that is no longer active.  Is there any way to get the account to delete?

    I have the same issue, after I did software update, my phone reverted back to a non existent email address. I tried delete ting the account but it asks for old password to delete and that doesn't work. Before I switch to Samsung is there a solution to this puzzle???

    It won't let me delete the account because the Apple ID that is baked into the dialog cannot be changed.  I have tried every password that the old account name had, I've tried the password of the new account.

    Steps:

    1) On Settings>iCloud, Hit 'Delete Account'

    2) Delete Account warning Dialog, I hit 'Delete'

    3) Password Required dialog. "Enter the Apple ID password for "old_account_name_here" to turn off Find My iPad.

    4) It's the old account, but ok, I enter the old password., hit 'Turn Off'

    5) Your Apple ID or password is incorrect.

    6) Ok, I knew the account was incorrect BECAUSE I CHANGED IT, but I hit 'Retry'

    7) Goto Step 3... ad nauseum

     

    PS. Of course I have tried bringing up the Account panel, but it also will not let me change the Apple ID.

    PPS. I have changed my Apple ID under iTunes & App Store but still no relief on the iCloud issue.

    If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
