What fixed mine was turning the MBP upside down... hit eject and it came out. That solved it...rediculous i know but it came out and has worked fine since then!! 🙂 Let me know if that solves any of the problems for you guys!

I went to the apple store and they were able to get it out by pressing the touchpad button during reboot. This is something I had tried myself several times, but for some reason it worked this time round. Might be a temperature change or the movement caused by driving it to the store. Who knows? In any case, the problem turned out to be that this old CD-R was thicker than your typical CD. So in the future I need to watch out for unusually thick CDs and not put them in the drive.

Hey Johnny, Thank you so much for turn-mbp-upside down-booting while pressing and holding eject key during startup-stuck cd tip...I let my machine sit for a few hours to cool down before doing this (which may or may not have had an effect).
That worked for me and everythings fine now. 😉 Now that's what I call thinking outside the box. I could see how Apple Tech support might be embarrassed to even suggest such a maneuver, but I'm all for whatever works! I do miss the paper clip hole (which I still use on my rev a iMac, which still runs strong at 7 1/2yrs old). I guess my advice would be to avoid inserting any cd media that has sticker labels. I guess with a machine so thin, a drop load tray is out of the question aside from being dated technology. I am glad I read my manual before attempting to load an 80mm mini cd-r!

This is a gravity issue. In other words, you need to hold the MBP so that the disk falls out when you hit eject. I've had this problem as well. If you notice, some CD/DVD media disks are slightly thicker than others, I mean real small difference, but enough. When I insert the "thicker" media, they always get stuck. I have to let Gravity do it's thing each time.

I suppose I should return this and have it fixed, however, it is not that "big of a deal" and I don't want to do without my MBP. I'll wait for something more critical, and then have it repaired!

I got my MacBook Pro today and put a standard disk in my "superdrive" (the Office v.x disk) and nothing happens. I can't eject using any of the methods that other discussion members have recommended. Also, I noticed that in System Profiler, there is no Disc Burning device found. Does anyone know if these are related issues? Or maybe I just have a lemon.
