Q: Computer and iPhone not connecting?!

I've done everything upto the part when my iPhone should connect to my computer, but nothing is happening after I added the Id and password. Nothing shows up not even the unable turn on home sharing message appears

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1, I'm using iTunes 10.6.1
