Q: playback failed

Recently I started getting the error "Error Playback Failed" while trying to start a lecture topic in iTunes U. So far I tried syncing etc to see whether I can fix the problem. So far no luck. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    I have the same issue.  I downloaded the first video for a course in iTunes U and it played the first 20 minutes then froze. I deleted and tried to reload it and now I kep getting a Payback Failed message, and can't delete it.  Now what!

    Same problem, none of the itunes U files work on my iPhone 5. What's the problem?

    Has this site retired?  I'm curious as to why these questions haven't been answered. I've been an Apple user since 1986 and have never seen this lack of responsiveness.  And, it's frustrating, as I'm having the same issue with playback failure on my iphone and ipad.  All are up-to-date with software.  Ipad has plenty of space. Wireless connection working fine.

     

    Any thoughts.  I'm trying to play Itay Talgam - Lead like the great conductors.

    No, but this forum is for questions about managing iTunes U sites and hence general playback or download issues may go unanswered. You might try asking in the general iTunes or iPad forums.

    Thanks so very much for answering.  I've been it iTunes forum and support, no luck.  I'll now try iPad.  I seem to keep getting returned to this support group.

    Hi guys. I am not sure if this problem is related to another one I have? Until recently I was able to sync iTunes movies to my iPad, but I now find the playback button is completely greyed out and unresponsive. So while I can see the movie in the Videos app, the content doesn't playback.

     

    I cannot place exactly when this started hapenning, but I am curious as to the sympthoms you are having with iTunes U. Coincidental perhaps?
