May 26, 2012 5:55 PM in response to nicomaryby Niel,There are none unless your computer shipped with one; the Mac OS X 10.4 retail versions are 10.4, 10.4.3, and 10.4.6. Regardless of which iMac model you have, it can run at least two different Mac OS X versions in addition to 10.4.

Jun 2, 2012 5:11 AM in response to Nielby a brody,Actually Intel iMacs can't use the retail 10.4, and must use the original 10.4 installer they came with, if they came with 10.4. Only PowerPC Firewire Macs with DVD drive can use at a minimum of 10.4.6 retail, and some can use all 10.4 retail releases.

Jun 2, 2012 5:18 AM in response to nicomaryby a brody,A blinking folder if it stops and then lets you boot just means the Startup Disk was not set for the currently available boot disk.
A blinking folder if it continues indefinitely means it has trouble finding an appropriate statup disk. This may be due to a diectory issue, or a hard disk issue, or even a PRAM battery issue. Since it can be any of these, using a data recovery tool to recovery your data first is essential, if you don't have a backup. If you do have a backup, you can also boot in safe mode to run fsck. To run fsck boot holding command and S key simultaneously on a wired keyboard.
At the prompt type each of the following followed by Return/Enter key (on the main body of the keyboard):
/sbin/fsck -fy
repeat until it says it either is repaired or can't be repaired.
If it can be repaired type this followed by the return key.
/sbin/mount -uw
and this followed by the retun key.
exit
If it can't be repaired, purchase Alsoft Disk Warrior to eliminate directory issues.
If Disk Warrior can't fix it, see first if the PRAM battery can help, and then lastly replacing the hard disk.
