My question is: Who is MacKeeper is it legitimate Apple service for cleanup and security enhancement of my iMac?

I think it is a very wise decision. After I did my Mountain Lion update; the MacKeepers window popped up and encouraged me to download/clean up my computer. Did not trust it and checked out Apple Support Communities. So happy I did. My Mac is performing just fine !
