To access Facebook on my MacBook, must I RE-INSTALL the OS-X? Until now, NO probs for several years, suddenly NO access to FB (no prob accessing any other Web sites). Solution?

Can you not even access the 1st page in the browser, are you getting any error messages that might give us a clue?
I can get to the sign-on page, but no further after entering user name & password. After a few mintues my Mac signals Request Timed Out. I have been accessing FB from this same MacBook for several years, this just started last week. I've dumped my cookies and rebooted, several times, to no avail. I'm stymied.
It starts with http:// Then this is what shows up for the url after I enter my user name and password:
OK, & do you see this page then, or just that URL at the top?
Yes, I see that whole page, no prob. Then after I enter user & password it does nothing, eventually signals Request TImed Out.
Oh my goodness Ron! I thought I was the only one experiencing this! I haven't found anything on this yet and to my frustration, I've considered reformatting as well!
I cannot access my FB on ANY of my browsers. I've cleared all the caches of Safari, Firefox and Chrome, to no avail. I can only access it to log in then it takes FOREVER to load anything. Sometimes it loads properly, sometimes it doesn't load at all. The only way I've been able to run FB was through my phone. I am able to access my FB account on my fiance's iMac with no problems so I am really considering that my MBP OSx 10.5.8 Leopard is the problem? I know it sounds like a big deal but I run a FB page for my business and I can't upload anything without timing out.
I gave up on safari, my chrome and firefox still don't load it properly but Opera seems to be going just fine! Keeping my fingers crossed!
Hey, MANY THANKS! Opera is working just fine. I did not even know about that browser, so I'm back to FB and it has some other features I like more than Safari.....Apple staff should be sharing this info, yes?
I was struggling with this same problem for couple of days and tried to find a solution. I just reset my administrator password and everything works just fine.
