I cannot get my iphone calendar to upload my new events to my computer calendar when i sync

I cannot get my iphone calendar events to sync to my mac calendar events... please help. I've been able to sync in the past but for some reason this time around it wont sync the event that i placed into my phone calendar into my compter calendar when I sync
