After searching the forums and reading support I still have two very basic question about iCloud and it's place with my iDevices, pc and iTunes. It is :
1. Can you use both iCloud and iTunes together?
I mean can I backup(hookup) my iPhone in iTunes occasionaly while still
using iCloud's backup features?
2. Are backups encrypted with a user password like in iTunes or does it use any other form of encryption?

No, you must choose one form of backup or the other. You will find the option for this under the summary tab in iTunes when your device is connected.
iCloud backups are only accessible using your iCloud password, they are encrypted by Apple, you cannot add any encryption of your own.

From reading the manual deeper and a book I picked up it
appears you can use bot. Just not at the exact same moment.
They also say to let iCloud do the Contacts, Taks, Calendar and Reminder
only if you use bot.
iCloud won't back up iCloud Contacts, Calendars etc, because they are already part of iCloud. If you are going to use both iTunes and iCloud to back up, you will need to keep changing your settings in iTunes, which is why I originally said you will need to choose one or the other.
My elaborate setup for video and audio lends itself much better to management by iTunes then iCloud. iTunes Match is currently not fully satisfactory either. It seems all I need to do is change the option backup button and there are only two choices. If that is correct I'm open to the hassle.
I have automatic backups enabled on my new iPad and iPhone 4S, and I do weekly backups to iTunes (which backs up more than just iCloud does.
