Backup is missing plist files and cant access data.

Hi

I upgraded my iPhone4 to 5.1.1 but had some problems so I inshalles the OS from scratch. I then restored from the backup I did before upgrade but only the applications installed, no app data or photos.

I tried to restore again from the backup but it did not appear in the iTunes pick list. I can see the backup in the "mobilesync/backup" folder but the .plist files are missing.

Any suggestions on how to get the data back?

The backup file if 5gb in size so I know the pics etc are there, the new backup is only 428mb! - I have taken a copy of these and saved to a memory stick to have a clean copy of the files

I have tried iphone backup extractor but as the plist files are missing it does not work.

The worst thing about this is I have used a program called "everyday" and have taken a photo of my son since he was born in April 2011. I will try anything to recover these pics

Hahaha I'll try my best, english is not my first language sorry 😊 When I try to restore from backup it doesn't appear the last one I did (July 23) , it appears another one that has nothing (Sep 25), and try to delete it, to see if Itunes can search in the deafault folder my backup (July 23) but then appears again (Sep 25). Septemeber 25 is the date when I had to restore to factory settings, because I updated to IOS6 and it didn't go as I wished. I'm pretty sure that in my PC there is my last backup because I know where it is and I see it! Thank you so much for your help cheonweb! I hope I've made myself understood.
