No, not as as far as I know. You need to restrict yourself to the fonts that are built into the iPad. Use the font pull-down menu to choose fonts, which shows only the fonts available on the iPad. If you use the full font panel, you'll see all fonts installed on your machine, many of which will not be available on the iPad.

You can use any fonts you like in images, of course, but if this is a major requirement, don't forget this is possible with an app and you can deliver a 'book' there as well.

It would be easier just to "write" your text in Pages or Word and do a screen print of the text in the font you want to use. see example below:
