Apps closing on iPod touch

My friend downloaded a couple apps into my iPod touch and it was playable then. Now it doesn't play. When I open the app, it just closes out. How do you fix this?

iPod touch, iOS 5.1

- Reset the iPOd. Nothing is lost

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Purchase/install any new app

- The remaining items of:

iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store

The apps still don't work. They still close out.

The restore the iPod. First from backup and if problem persists restore to factory defaults/new iPod

Try downloading any new app from the App Store and see if those apps work.

Here is the thing: apps that I did not purchase with my account, my friend got the apps for me, are no longer playable. My apps work fine but the others, no. Is this fixable?

- The apps likely need to be updated but you have to log into the account that purchased them to update them

- You should really delete the apps since they do not belong to you.
