Q: Import Audio File into GarageBand for iPad

How do I important an audio file with garageband for ipad and then add it to a track to loop it.  I've read through lots of info already ont this, no luck.  The current Apple forum says I can (1) press the loop button in the track window (2) then import by pressing Audio File button, but there is no Audio Files button on my iPad software. BTW...I updated my GarageBand iOS version already, it's current.  What am I missing?

    Adding audio sample to GarageBand

Connect the iPad, select it in the left-hand column, open the Apps tab, scroll down to File Sharing, select GarageBand, add files with the button or drag and drop onto the file area. Files should be uncompressed audio in AIFF, WAV, CAF or Apple Loops format at 16bit, 44.1 kHz.

    Insert audio sample into song

Open song in GarageBand on iPad, if needed switch to Tracks view or stop if playing, use the loops tool, audio files section, to insert your audio...

Is there really no way to do this without a computer?? That is really disappointing. I've got an email with some loops and need to import/open them in GarageBand. Don't have a computer to use.

We can "Open In" iMovie, but not GarageBand? What the heck?

Actually you can import audio files to Garageband for iPad from Dropbox and iCloud too. You just have to look for the LOOP icon (Is not available on every type of track, just the tracks that support audio files)... The loop icon asks you where you want to import from.

This is a dark feature since the loop icon is not always visible, i had to change the type of project a couple of times to find it.

I'm sure you are correct. I'm not certain if those options were available back in the day.
