I can't set my date and time for ipod touch

The date is displaying as December 31, 1969, and the clock isn't right. I change it in the settings screen, and all hte other months are grayed out. if I change it to May, it spins back to December. it is the only month I can pick. I tried to re-sync it to my computer, and it is not being recognized by my computer now. I can't use the internet on the ipod touch, even though it says it is connected to my wifi network. What is going on?!?!

I had this problem too.. I learned from somewhere else in the Apple forums that if you set the year of the date first then the month and day then the time you should be ok. It sure beat backing up and clearing settings. Good Luck.

First, do a back up of your iPod. Then, go to Settings > General > Reset and choose "Erase All Content and Settings". Configure your iPod and see if it's OK

its not connecting to the computer though either... I can't back it up.. that's why I dont want ot go as far as erasing everything yet, since i dont have a current backup of everything,.

This worked so perfectly. Glad I found your post. The striking g thing is that my frozen date was also December of 1969!!!
