I have checked the software update and keep getting the message that all my software is up to date. I know it is not. Can anyone explain please?

Thanks

is this your macbook?  how old is the computer?  software update will show you updates that are available for YOUR computer.  it could be that your computer can't update an application anymore because it cant support the update.  What application/s?

Software Update shows only free updates, not paid upgrades or anything that would require a paid upgrade to use. Even though paid MobileMe members can get a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD for free, it still counts as an upgrade which Software Update won't list.

Software update only checks software downloaded via the App Store. Software purchased on physical media, disks, or online from non-Apple sites are ignored. Also, if you're not running the current OS, now 10.10.x Yosemite, that updated software is not recommeneed for the OS version that you are running.
