I somehow managed to lose the connection between Aperture and a vault I had created. I can still start the process of refreshing the database from the vault but after calculating the disk space required the process just stops. Somehow the vault must be corrupted. Not a bid problem as I don't need it anymore.

The problem is that I can't remove and delete the vault from Aperture anymore. Also when I try to do this in Finder it doesn't work as it is locked. To make matters worse, I can't unlock it. The Locked tick box is ticked but greyed out so I can't access it. This does not change if I click the little padlock. In Sharing & Permissions the only Read & Write access is by a user called system. No idea who that should be and even as an admin I cannot change any of the permissions or add a new read & write user.

There must be a hard way (low level) of getting rid of this file. Help would be appreciated.
