Did the iPad connect to that network previously? If so try

Settings > Wi-Fi > then tap the blue arrow next to the network name > Forget this Network

Then let the iPad attempt to connect again.

If that doesn't work try,

Settings > General > Networks > Reset All Networks

Then reboot your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304

iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199

Additional things to try.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

When you say 'fails to connect most of the time..' do you mean Safari or your browser cannot load 'any' pages, or,cannot perform any 'connection required' operation- IE downloading/sending mail, syncing wirelessly etc.?

If pages do not load have you tried tapping the address in the top 'goto' bar so it highlights out in plain white background, then pressing enter on your keyboard to reselect it?

Does your browser actually display the 'unavailable' page? Can you be a little more specific about your problem please.

Hi Ct,

Fails to connect means it cannot load any page even the google nor it download or send mail in outlook. the loading sign (I mean the moving circle) continues for long and ultimately it says that 'could not load the page as server is not responding'. For outlook it didnt say anything but does nothing. But my friends IPAD 2 able to do all operation from the same place. The signal of my IPAD shows full reception but still not able to load the page. I was mention most of the time as sometimes it was able to do all operation from the same place. Strange !!!!

Another strange thing is, this happens from one of our conference room but I am able to do any operation from my cabin though the signal from my cabin is not so strong.. I am confused, whether it is a wifi problem or something else ......

i have the same problem since last night and i'm going insane trying to figure it out. first i change the name and password of my router then i change the channel several times and still ON AND OFF as of this time. when i tried to reconnect it says "unable to join the network" and then i click the forget this device and connect again then after a few minutes still haven't use the internet ,down agai. then while trying to send this message it was down again.so...i need to resend and resend. whew! what a mess!

It could be hardware - or it could be a software conflict caused by a buggy App. Do full restore (backing up first). Take the option to restore as a factory restore and update to latest iOS. Test your ipad without anything other than the preinstalled apps. If all is well, then add your apps back a few at a time to see if the problem can be pinpointed.

If the default configuration is still a problem then refer to Apple's help on troubleshooting wireless and carrier networks.

If still unable to solve then it could be a hardware problem requiring a new unit

I am surprised the cabin is ok but your conference room is a problem. I can only consider that there is an electrical noise issue within the room causing signals to be re-radiated and causing a problem for the pad to 'lock on'.

Best Regards, Ct
