How can I uninstall/reinstall an application that has no launcher?

I installed and played Plants vs. Zombies for a while successfully. Then during an upgrade of the game, it got stuck updating and was not playable. Restarting the iPad changed the status in the App Store app from Updating to Installed, but there is no launcher for the game. Now I'm stuck as it seems that I need the launcher to uninstall/reinstall, but there isn't one.

iPad, iOS 5.1.1

If yoy can't find it on any of your homescreens then can you find it via the iPad's spotlight search screen (swipe your first homescreen to the right) ? There is a limit of 11 homescreens after which apps are only accessible via the spotlight screen. If you still can't find it then is it hidden by an app age rating in Settings > General > Restrictions ?

If you have more than 11 homescreens and it's on 'screen' 12+, then you should be able to delete it via your computer's iTunes - connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of iTunes, and then use the Apps tab on the right-hand side to remove it.
