No response from computer

I got a call from my brother the other day and he told me that my Mac was not working. When I asked what was wrong, he told me that the mouse and keyboard were not working. When I get home, I try and look at it, insert new batteries, and no response. The green lights quickly blink about 3 times and then turn off on both the keyboard and mouse. I'm not sure if he did something and he is not telling me, but I'm getting frustrated that my computer isn't working right. HELP!

You can get help faster by including the iMac variant and Mac OS version in your initial post. Doing "About this Mac" from the Apple menu will show the processor type and the OS version. That is a good place to start.

Go to the Apple menu and open System preferences. Then find Bluetooth icon and click it open . You should see your wireless devices and whether they are turned on and connected.
