@no1momo: I looked at your advise about restoring;

I had al the screens and everything went well, untill step 4. I see the screen which says "slide to open", but it says it's locked. i first have to type a pin, but the device said my pin was incorrect. i used my personal pin which I always used before updating to ios6. Do I have to use my own pin, or the standard pin (0000)?

Hello,

I am contacting you because my iPhone won't activate. Recently I traveled to UK (London) and I bought myself an iPhone 4 from a pawnshop. They said that the phone was used with 02 carrier. I got home (Bulgaria) and tried to start the iPhone but the only thing that shows is:

"Only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carrier's store to recieve a replacement SIM card".

I don't have that option and I really don't know what to do. I would be really happy if you could help me find a solution.

Thanks,

Best regards

If you phone asks you to wait x minutes then just wait.

If your phone requires you to sign into itunes:

If you know the iPhone passcode and have backed it up recently, you can simply unlock the device with iTunes though it requires a restore:

  1. Connect the iPhone to a computer it has synced to before with a USB cable and launch iTunes
  2. Choose “Sync” in iTunes and enter the proper passcode when requested to unlock the device, this backs up the iPhone to the computer
  3. Choose “Restore” to restore the iPhone from the most recent backup

If you don’t know the iPhone passcode, you have to wipe the iPhone clean and it will erase all data using recovery mode. If you made a backup to iTunes or iCloud, you can restore it after the fact to that backup.
